Masaaki Homma is a Japanese designer and the founder of mastermind JAPAN. Homma had worked in sales for seven years at Yohji Yamamoto, after which, he became a manager for a boutique that sold clothes from new designers. In 1997, Homma launched mastermind. After struggling for a few seasons, the label got its first order and the brand was launched into popularity. mastermind is known for its skulls and bones logo, which adorns the high priced products. The brand often collaborates with other labels on limited edition and coveted items.
