NIGO is one of the original godfathers of streetwear and still carries influence in the worlds of fashion, footwear and music. 2020 was a productive one for the HUMAN MADE designer as he partnered with Verdy’s Girls Don’t Cry on numerous occasions. The duo linked up for a couple of capsule releases in the new year and also on Valentine’s day. In November, the duo collabed once more for a concise release of co-branded jackets, tees, totes and caps.

One of the biggest revelations in the streetwear and luxury world in 2020 came by way of a NIGO partnership with Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton. The NIGO x Virgil Abloh LV² capsule which consisted of numerous drops were made up of luxe denim pieces, refined suiting, contemporary wears, accessories and travel goods. The highly-anticipated output was a highlight in both NIGO and Abloh’s respective careers.

Lastly, a NIGO year wouldn’t be complete without footwear releases and the 49-year-old designer delivered with vibrant colorways of the adidas Rivalry, Stan Smith and Campus models for his HUMAN MADE line. Another drop also took place in late September for the Tokio Solar HM and Stan Smith-esque UNOFCL shoe.
