Japanese fashion icon NIGO continued to thrive in 2019 through his various brands and labels. Aside from continuing his fruitful relationship with adidas via the brand he co-founded with Pharrell — HUMAN MADE — the Americana label also collaborated with Girls Don’t Cry for numerous capsules across the year, their European debut at Amsterdam’s Oallery Store drawing massive crowds of streetwear enthusiasts. Moreover, NIGO joined Pharrell in creating HUMAN MADE’s first ever sake, dubbed “Storm Cowboy,” which was exceptionally well-received. Uniqlo also tapped the 49-year-old designer for their Star Wars t-shirt capsule, where he worked alongside UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi and WTAPS’ Tetsu Nishiyama.
