Rei Kawakubo founded iconic fashion brand COMME des GARÇONS which is now co-owned by her husband Adrian Joffe. The husband and wife team also created the global retail powerhouse Dover Street Market. COMME des GARÇONS is perhaps the pinnacle of Japanese luxury labels and has been a favorite amongst celebrities worldwide including Pharrell Williams, G-Dragon and Victoria Beckham. 2018 was a momentous year for the fashion power couple as they’ve executed fruitful collaborations with Nike, The North Face alongside Junya Watanabe, Supreme and more. In addition to the COMME des GARÇONS, Homme Plus, BLACK and SHIRT lines, Kawakubo and Joffe also announced the diffusion line CDG which is now available globally and online. If ruling the fashion world from a design standpoint wasn’t enough, on the retail side, the duo opened up a new Dover Street Market location in Los Angeles just this year.
