The whimsical Japanese label continued to show at fashion week for its myriad of labels, including COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus, BLACK and SHIRT. Additionally, the brand continues to roll out stellar collaborations, having teamed up with the likes of Teva and Nike. Most recently, it was announced that Rei Kawakubo would be the subject a solo exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2017 — only the second solo exhibition to occur since Yves Saint Laurent’s in 1983. Kawakubo will also be the theme for the 2017 Met Gala.

Kawakubo and Joffe are also the minds behind Dover Street Market. This year, DSM continued stocking some of the world’s most cutting edge brands. The multi-brand retailer also collaborated with the likes of Gucci, NikeLab, Thom Browne and more.
