Following his claim to fame as co-founder of BEEN TRILL, Heron Preston has kept busy with a substantial number of side projects, collaborations and creative endeavors. This year marked the launch of his HPC TRADING CO, an online concept store dedicated to a carefully curated collection of clothes and objects by him and other like-minded designers. As a creative who’s been leveraging the internet to explore new territories, we saw an unexpected collaboration between him and the Department of Sanitation in New York on a collection of embroidered and screen-printed items which had been upcycled. Despite his constant efforts to explore new places, he’s not opposed to collaborations with mass-produced brands, surprising us once again with his custom-designed sweat suit for Gap. With such a spectrum of work, it’s hard to predict what will be next, but surely it’ll be nothing less than surprising.
