A name undoubtedly familiar with our readers, Yosuke Aizawa continues to illustrate why his designs are one of Japan’s finest exports when it comes to marrying utilitarian elements and dynamic design. His flourishing partnership with German giants adidas took another step forward, showing their elevated sportswear collaboration at the prestigious Pitti Uomo. Critics were blown away by the seamless amalgamation of traditional outerwear, technical sportswear and street-inspired pieces, which were backed by an elaborate light show and thumping soundtrack in Florence. The duo’s footwear offering did no harm to the collection’s sterling reputation either, spanning popular runners such as the ultra-popular NMD R2 and NMD City Sock, in addition to more burly EQT support and Seeulater boot. With all of his boundary-pushing athletic aspirations supported by the Three Stripes, Aizawa was free to experiment with more flair under his own label that’s now in its 10th year. Notable collaborations aside from adidas include fragment design, UGG and Pendleton.
