Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe

Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARÇONS needs no introduction. Co-owned with her husband Adrian Joffe who acts as the brand’s president, the whimsical Japanese label has a lot to be proud of in 2015. The brand started the year off by opening a new standalone store in Hong Kong, before showing collections for multiple CdG imprints. Collaborations also remained a strong point with the brand, having partnered again with Converse in addition to Erik Schedin.
Apart from CdG, Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe spearhead Dover Street Market, which celebrated its 11th year in operation. This year marked several coveted Nike collaborations, a few collections with Stussy, as well as Gosha Rubchinskiy, Undercover, Tiffany & Co., and more. This retail arm definitely solidified its role in fashion and proved that it’s strong enough to stand on its own.
