Netflix has officially announced that Jason Statham will star in Dogfight, a new feature film written, directed, and produced by Guy Ritchie. The upcoming project marks the seventh cinematic partnership between the British filmmaker and the action star, following crime staples like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and the upcoming Viva La Madness.
Described as a stylish revenge actioner set within the London criminal underworld, the film is backed by production companies Black Bear, Toff Guy Films, and Statham’s Punch Palace banner. Ritchie and Statham are set to produce the picture alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg. Production on the feature is scheduled to kick off in early 2027, with principal photography taking place across the United Kingdom.
The announcement lands as the duo prepares for the rollout of Viva La Madness, an adaptation of J.J. Connolly’s novel and follow-up to Layer Cake, which Connolly co-scripted with Ritchie. That project features an ensemble cast including Vinnie Jones, Jason Isaacs, Babs Olusanmokun, Camila Mendes, Ben Foster, Jonny Lee Miller, and musician Raúl Alejandro in his feature film debut, distributed domestically by Black Bear and internationally by Amazon MGM Studios.
