The service industry has, quite frankly, been underserved when it comes to footwear. For years, the term “line cook shoes” has been synonymous with orthopedic-looking sneakers and clogs designed more for comfort than getting a ‘fit off in the kitchen.
Converse is looking to change that with its new At Your Service collection, reimagining traditional kitchen footwear through its iconic Chuck Taylor All Star. Think of it as a sneaker collection for the cooks who live and breathe by their Chucks, but haven’t necessarily been able to wear them safely or comfortably through long shifts in the kitchen.
Featuring the Chuck Taylor All Star High Top, Low Top, and Slip-On, the collection retains the familiar silhouettes while introducing a series of workplace-ready upgrades. These include slip-resistant diamond-pattern outsoles, CX cushioning for all-day comfort, and durable materials built to withstand demanding kitchen environments. Canvas iterations feature breathable, water- and oil-repellent uppers, while leather versions offer an easy-to-clean finish.
Meeting or exceeding ASTM SRO and ISO occupational footwear standards for slip resistance, the collection brings some much-needed personality to a category where function has traditionally taken priority over style.
