Salomon continues to blur the lines between rugged outdoor performance and urban streetwear with a newly unveiled footwear capsule arriving exclusively at BILLY’S. The drop reimagines two of the French brand’s most celebrated technical silhouettes – the XT-6 PROTECTIVE and the XT-WHISPER GORE-TEX – in mood-evoking, weather-ready colorways. Designed to adapt effortlessly to both city streets and unpredictable natural environments, the collection beautifully balances cutting-edge utility with a sophisticated.
The XT-6 PROTECTIVE takes the darker, more utilitarian route, replacing the model’s usual technical mesh emphasis with a ripstop upper inspired by workwear. Its “Stormy Weather” base reads as a muted blue-grey, overlaid with pale Trooper green-grey SensiFit lines that trace the sidewalls and toe before giving way to Dark Navy and black around the heel and heavily lugged sole. The matte ripstop surface and tonal overlays give the shoe a more protective, uniform-like character, while black Quicklace cords and oversized Salomon branding add sharper contrast. Underfoot, EVA cushioning softens the ride, with durable TPU film reinforcing the slim layered construction.
The XT-WHISPER GORE-TEX offers a lighter visual counterpoint in “Grisaille/Dark Navy/Black,” pairing pale grey technical mesh with flowing navy overlays and metallic silver-white accents that emphasize the silhouette’s distinctive wave-like lines. The silhouette specifically highlights the interplay between matte and glossy finishes, which creates extra depth across the layered upper, while a visible GORE-TEX tab signals the shoe’s weather-resistant construction.
