InScope Is a New Art Fair That Should Be on Your Radar

InScope is the new fair joining Miami this December, and, designed for discovery, it’s looking to shake things up during the city’s upcoming Art Week.
The inaugural edition will hit the sands on Ocean Drive at 8th Street between December 1 and 6, planting its indoor and outdoor art installations, gallery pavilions, and social spaces across 220,000 square feet. Built around curiosity and connection, the event introduces a new format designed to bring artists, galleries, and collectors together in encounters that feel personal. “Art gives those conversations a starting point,” said InScope’s CEO and Co-founder Matt Middleton. “Our ambition is for people to leave with the relationships they came for and the inspiration they didn’t expect.”
While the full gallery list is coming soon, its day-to-night programming so far offers a promising mix of talks, performances, tours, and wellness events. And its Feature Projects roster is already looking stacked. The first wave of announced projects includes Alake Shilling (Tlaloc Studios), Aurora Mititelu, Blue Floor Project (Fuze and Baha Mar), Ceren Arslan, Jason Hackenwerth (CAMP Gallery), Nurse (Walshy Fire), Rabi Towing, and Swoon.
And while this marks the debut edition, the minds behind it aren’t the new kids on the block. Headed by Middleton, Alexis Hubshman, Hayley River Smith, and the former SCOPE Art Show team, InScope leans on 25 years of championing artists and galleries to reconsider and create space for diverse perspectives and experiences. The art of collecting arrives with a sense of excitement and belonging, whether you’re a first-time buyer or a seasoned pro.
“There isn’t only one way to experience art,” Smith, InScope’s director and recent State of Art featuree, explained. “We want to give people reasons to spend time, ask questions, and find something that stays with them.”
