In the Schiaparelli universe, the human body is far more than a simple canvas—it is an intricate alphabet used to craft surreal, sculptural stories. For the Maison’s Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2026 collection, titled “The Anatomy of Desire,” Creative Director Daniel Roseberry is diving deep into this legacy. Reawakening the provocative spirit of founder Elsa Schiaparelli, the new collection transforms anatomical features into artful, unapologetically bold objects of luxury fashion.
The fascination with anatomy traces directly back to the Maison’s avant-garde Surrealist era in 1930s Paris. Heavily influenced by the visionary work of artist Salvador Dalí, Elsa Schiaparelli famously transformed eyes, lips, hands, and ears into wearable totems. From the iconic 1938 Skeleton Dress to playful trompe-l’œil accessories, she turned the body into a powerful symbol of poetry, play, and provocation.
Roseberry carries this intimate, graphic language seamlessly into the Spring/Summer 2026 season. The apparel is defined by striking statement pieces, including supple leather dresses and tops intricately embossed with bust motifs pulled straight from the extensive Schiaparelli archives.
The anatomical conversation continues loudly through the collection’s accessories. Intertwined hands are molded into a striking gold-plated choker, while sculpted lips adorned with faux bijoux piercings serve as gilt clutches. Abstract faces emerge across the brand’s iconic leather goods, detailing the patent leather Mini Face bag as well as the Soufflé and Soufflé Baguette bags, which feature handles crafted from anatomical enameled bijoux.
By seamlessly merging historical archival influence with modern luxury, Daniel Roseberry has once again made the human form extraordinary. The Schiaparelli SS26 “Anatomy of Desire” collection is available now at the Maison’s flagship salon in Paris, as well as select global retail destinations spanning from New York to Hong Kong.
