The Tokyo-meets-New York label, vowels, returned to Paris Fashion Week to debut its Fall/Winter 2026 collection, titled “Perfect Day.” Guided by the Japanese philosophy of Shu Ha Ri, Creative Director Yuki Yagi continues to master and re-conceive fundamental silhouettes through a lens of global research and intentionality.
Designed in Aoyama and manufactured in Japan, the collection emphasizes high-quality production and timeless design. This season, Yagi introduced a rich palette of moss green, burgundy and deep purple, punctuated by vibrant marigold and icy blues. The garments balance formal tailoring – such as double-breasted suits and matching overcoats – with functional staples like corduroy trucker jackets, shell jackets, and the brand’s signature knitted bombers, now updated in colorful camouflage. Whimsical motifs, including tulips inspired by Dutch artist Frans Everbag and alpine skiers, add a unique artistic layer to the knitwear and shirting.
Meanwhile, the presentation at 76 Rue de Turenne was an immersive exploration of the cities that shape the brand. Spanning four rooms, the exhibition represented New York, Kyoto, Paris and Los Angeles, reflecting the diverse cultural intersections and time zones the vowels team operates within. By merging the meticulous ethics of Tokyo with the instinctive speed of New York, vowels has crafted a wardrobe of refined classics built for real-life utility.
