Summary

  • The Doublet Fall/Winter 2026 collection centers on the concept of “AIR,” utilizing experimental materials crafted from captured atmospheric , carbon-harvested inks, and bio-resins that consume greenhouse gases

  • Masayuki Ino embraces the volatile nature of these air-derived yarns, turning technical challenges like heat shrinkage and unpredictable textures into a celebration of scientific trial and error

  • A standout collaboration with Kids Love Gaite features a surreal leather loafer with an inflatable beach ball upper, allowing the wearer to physically pump air into the shoe to alter its volume

This Fall/Winter 2026, Masayuki Ino’s Doublet returned to Paris Fashion Week with a collection that makes the invisible tangible. Focusing on the “strangest comforts,” this season centers on the concept of “AIR” — not merely as an atmosphere, but as a raw material and a symbol of human persistence.

The technical foundation of the collection is a breakthrough in sustainable textile science. Ino utilized avant-garde yarns synthesized from captured atmospheric bio-resins cultivated by greenhouse-gas-consuming microorganisms, and carbon-based inks salvaged from industrial exhaust. The design process was defined by volatile trial and error, where rather than hiding these imperfections, Doublet celebrates the “time they never gave up,” transforming technical failures into experimental fashion that bridges the gap between environmental activism and high-concept streetwear.

The collection’s theme of inflation and atmosphere found its most literal and surreal expression in a standout footwear collaboration with Kids Love Gaite. The duo revealed a leather loafer featuring a sculptural upper designed like a deflated beach ball. The shoe is fully functional and can be “blown up,” using air to physically alter the volume and silhouette of the foot.

The collection serves as an informative manifesto on the future of manufacturing. By giving form to the air we breathe, Doublet explores a “New Classic” where clothing is born from belief and scientific curiosity, proving that the most interesting views are found only by those who refuse to stop at the first breath of difficulty.
