- Casting is currently open for contestants to enter the immersive Vault-Tec simulation
Prime Video is expanding its post-apocalyptic footprint with Fallout: Shelter, a new unscripted competition series that brings the Vault-Tec experience to the real world. Following the massive success of the scripted Fallout adaptation, Amazon has partnered with the producers behind Squid Game: The Challenge to create an immersive, high-stakes game show set within the franchise’s signature underground bunkers.
The 10-episode series will transport a diverse group of contestants into a bomb-proof vault, challenging them to survive a simulation of the game’s retro-futuristic wasteland. According to the announcement, the gameplay will blend large-scale physical challenges with the “strategic dilemmas and moral crossroads” that define the RPG series. Contestants must rely on ingenuity and teamwork to secure safety and power, all while vying for a significant cash prize.
Production is a collaborative effort between Studio Lambert, known for The Traitors and Undercover Boss, and Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s Kilter Films. Key creatives from the scripted series and Bethesda Game Studios, including Todd Howard, are attached as executive producers. This greenlight marks a continued investment in the IP, joining the ongoing scripted series and the enduring popularity of the Fallout: Shelter mobile game.
