December may have just begun, but the Summer sun is already rising behind the looks in Y-3‘s SS26 lookbook. Presenting Chapter 1 of the forthcoming collection, adidas and Y-3 imbue their all-black athletic silhouettes with a worn-in feel.
Shot by long-standing Y-3 collaborator Oscar Foster Kayne, the partners’ dialogue between adidas’ innovative approach and Yohji Yamamoto‘s austere aesthetic is clear. The first look starts strong, showing a padded bomber and extra-baggy trousers, inflating the model’s proportions with a bold strength. Slowly, raw-cut finishes unravel through the looks, appearing along the white three stripes appliqués and across the hemlines of baggy bottoms. In some pieces, even the Y-3 logo is laden with loose threads, giving the collection a grunge sensibility.
Standout pieces include a knitted tank featuring snipped collar detail and a Y-3 patch at the waist, and elsewhere a deconstructed adidas track jacket, featuring jagged stripes down one arm and a raw hem at the waist. The range of bottoms is diverse and ideal for layering, including oversized drawstring shorts, asymmetrical skirts, and cargo pants with darted knees.
The selection of footwear complements the collection with a black and white palette and leather details that elevate the models. The collaborators update the Y-3 GSG9 boot with brogue sensibilities and reprise a retro icon with the Y-3 STAN LOW PRO. Additionally, the Y-3 NIZZASTAR HI, the Y-3 TOKYO, the Y-3 ADIZERO RC6, and the Y-3 REGU LOW return in monochromatic colorways.
Y-3’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection will be available at adidas.com/y-3, Y-3 stores, and via select retail partners ahead of the SS26 season.
