Miura Golf's "Baby Blade" Is for the Sickos
For golfers who crave feel over forgiveness.
Summary
- Miura revives the KM-Baby Blade, a forged iron 15% smaller than the brand’s standard blade
- Despite the compact, intimidating profile, the irons retain equal mass and a refined leading edge
- Each set features a red Hanko stamp, marking the blade as a purist’s collectible
While much of the golf world chases distance and forgiveness, Miura continues to focus on what it does best: crafting equipment for the discerning player who values artistry over efficiency. This isn’t to cast judgment on those drawn to game-improvement sets—they genuinely lower the barrier to entry, and golf is hard enough as it is. Forged irons, rather, appeal to the player who sees a purely struck shot and honest feedback as a reward in themselves. For those sickos, Miura has just delivered the ultimate gift: the KM-Baby Blade.
An ode to late founder Katsuhiro Miura, the “Baby Blade” is a forged iron that’s 15% smaller than the brand’s standard blade. But despite its intimidating profile, Miura insists these irons are no harder to play, with equal mass and a refined leading edge packed into a smaller silhouette. “In the hands of a skilled golfer, there is no shot these irons can’t hit with ease,” says Miura COO Bill Holowaty. “Workability is paramount when selecting a blade. After all, why play a blade if all you want to do is hit it high and straight?”
To underscore the treasured nature of the Baby Blade—a set originally designed by Miura-san for his own personal use—a red Hanko stamp is applied on the back of the iron where the hosel meets the head. It’s a nod to purists who prize feel and workability above all else.
The Baby Blades can be pre-ordered in sets of 3-PW on October 7 at 10AM EST. Check out miuragolf.com for more.
