DC Comics and Warner Bros. are gearing up for their summer blockbuster with a surprise five-minute sneak peek of the upcoming Superman.

The film, which stars David Corenswet as the titular Superman/Clark Kent, sees James Gunn apply his signature style to the DC Universe for its first major blockbuster since appointed co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran. The sneak peek was first released during ComicCon in Las Vegas earlier this week and 48 hours, DC has shared the clip online to further generate buzz.

In the new teaser for Superman, the footage features some clips that fans have seen before in the previous trailer. Kal-El’s cute super dog, Krypto, arrives on the icy scene to take his master home. Expanding the sequence from the first trailer, Krypto takes the bloodied and beaten Superman to the Fortress of Solitude where he meets the giggling robot who carries him in and says, “Oh, he looked at me!” The antagonist that harms Superman has not been shown, but rather it is an introduction to a hero in need of help, matching Gunn’s style of choice in formulating a perception and breaking down the character. Later on in the trailer, signature quick shots of events of the film further tease what is to be expected from the new Superman. Corenswet is joined by Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film also stars Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell.

Superman arrives in theaters in IMAX on July 11. Watch the sneak peek above or below.
