Ahead of Hypebeast Flea New York on May 18 and 19, Hypebeast is spotlighting each of the event’s more than 30 vendors by giving an overview of their practice, their inspirations, and what they plan to bring to the event. Hypebeast Flea New York is free to attend — RSVP HERE

A DIY spirit shines through Extra Vitamins’ tees, hoodies and other goodies, all hand-dyed and hand-printed in the brand’s sunny Brooklyn studio. With graphic-driven looks that are equal parts psychedelic and playful (think super-sized embellishments, puff prints and boisterous details) the brand offers a vibe that’s just plain fun — and one that’s all about the process as well, with rare “testers” and misprints sold alongside its more pristine pieces. All that and more will be on hand at Hypebeast Flea New York — the Extra Vitamins team even plans to do some live screenprinting.

Explain your brand to people who may not know you yet.

Extra Vitamins is an artist-run clothing brand based out of a sunny studio in Brooklyn. Our studio is also an experimental printshop and dyehouse where every piece is screenprinted and tie dyed by hand. We use recycled cotton tees, keeping our production limited, sustainable, and holistic. We try to manifest clothes that make people feel good while wearing them. Clothes for sun gazing, rock-collecting, meditation, magic rituals, getting high, climbing, hiking, and blissing out.

What about New York inspires you the most?

It’s special to live someplace with so many other artists. It keeps the creative energy high. We get a lot of inspiration from digging through book and record shops around the city, searching for vintage psychedelic magazines, old field guides, etc. Getting out of the city is also important for the soul, we love going camping up in the Catskills and hiking at Harriman.

What have you got planned at Hypebeast Flea?

We’ll be live screen printing at our booth with a few graphics + blanks to choose from. And we’ll have a good mix of graphic tees and dyes from our last few drops, plus some new pieces for summer.

What other vendors are you looking forward to checking out at Hypebeast Flea?

Lichen for furniture, ALL CAPS STUDIO for like-minded clothing, FSP Outdoors for hand-made bags! And excited to meet new people!
