LMC Connects With G-SHOCK for a Hospital-Themed DW-5600 Timepiece

With a strap design that nods to the identification bracelets of inpatients.

Korean streetwear imprint LMC (Lost Management Cities) is joining forces with G-SHOCK for a DW-5600 watch collaboration.

Drawing aesthetic cues from hospitals, the new timepiece is doused in a matte-finished and monochromic look boasting a pristine white color. The integrated watch strap further explores clinical codes by drawing direct design inspiration from the bracelets that are typically worn by hospital patients. Printed in black, LMC’s logo and full imprint can be spotted on the strap, next to a stock photo of a doctor as well as blanks for the wearer to fill in their name, age, gender, weight as well as the name of their assigned doctor. On the tip of the strap, a QR code and bar code are also implemented.

Continuing the hospital theme, the outer packaging for the timepiece is reimagined to resemble the look of prescribed medication. With attention to detail, the packaging is made from forma cardboard material that is similar to real medical packaging, complete with a compelling graphic design that reads “Time is Medicine.”

Starting April 25, this collaborative wristwatch will be available to shop via LMC and Musinsa’s online websites. Synonymously, it will also be shoppable at LMC’s pop-up store in Hyundai Seoul department store.
