Travis Scott's 'ASTROWORLD' Named Album of the Year at 2019 BET Hip-Hop Awards

Travis Scott and his ASTROWORLD LP took home the coveted Album of the Year trophy at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards show.

Scott’s win is no small feat considering ASTROWORLD had to beat out Meek Mill’s Championships, Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You, DJ Khaled’s Father of Asahd, Tyler, The Creator’s Igor and Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers 3 for the title. Along with this win, ASTROWORLD has been Scott’s most critically and commercially successful project to date, moving 537,000 equivalent album units in its first week alone.

J. Cole also cleaned up the BET Hip-Hop Awards, taking home three trophies for Lyricist of the Year, Best Featured Verse and Impact Track. Cardi B, Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, and Lil Nas X followed behind with two wins each. DaBaby was honored the Best New Artist.

Additionally Legend Lil Kim received the 2019 I Am Hip Hop honor and performed a medley of her hits alongside Junior Mafia to celebrate. Check out the full winners list below.
