Update 2: As Footwear News reports, AriZona Ice Tea & adidas’ collaborative kicks will soon see the light of day, albeit at a significantly higher sticker price. The original retail of 99 cents that inspired brawls and sprawling lines has been swapped out in favor of a $200 USD price tag per shoe. Additionally, to make amends for the launch day chaos, AriZona gave away a limited number of pairs for free on a short-lived microsite. No word yet on when the shoes will relaunch, but keep an eye on AriZona and adidas NYC’s respective Twitter pages for updates.

Update: We just got word that the pop-up has been temporarily shut down by the NYPD. In a statement, adidas said, “Both adidas and AriZona are grateful for those who came out and apologize for any inconvenience caused as a result of the shutdown. In an effort to prioritize the safety of fans and consumers, all parties made the decision to close the event with the support of local authorities.”

Both companies urge fans to follow AriZona and adidas’ Twitter pages for updates.

Original Story: Summer’s favorite ice tea, AriZona, has outdone itself; following 2018’s pop-up shop where limited-edition apparel was sold for 99 cents, the New York-based beverage company has linked up with adidas Originals to release a range of product — including four sneakers — that are all priced at one dollar.

Each of the four sneakers, including two pairs of the Continental 80 and two pairs of the Yung-1, share AriZona’s signature color scheme, cherry blossoms, and geometric shapes and stripes, in addition to various logo hits throughout.

The collection will be on sale Thursday and Friday at a pop-up shop in New York City. Best of all, you won’t find yourself telling the cashier “the price is on the kicks though,” as each model retails for 99 cents.
