Burger King Announces Upside Down Whopper Meal for 'Stranger Things 3'
Limited to just 11 locations.
While the world waits for Stranger Things 3 to release on July 4, Burger King has announced it will be flipping its Whopper burger upside down in honor of the show’s “Upside Down” parallel universe.
The Upside Down Whopper comes as a $5 USD meal and has been created in association with Netflix and Coca Cola. Burger King’s Stranger Things-themed meal includes the aforementioned Whopper, as well as a portion of fries and co-branded serving of Coke.
The celebratory meal follows on from yesterday’s Stranger Things x Nike collaboration, which features retro silhouettes such as the Blazer, Cortez and Tailwind for Hawkins High School-themed, 1985-inspired collection. Burger King’s collaboration could be even harder for customers to get their hands on, as the meal will only be sold at 11 locations — referencing the show’s protagonist Eleven.
Going on sale on June 21, head to Burger King outposts in Miami, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. Burger King will also be launching exclusive T-shirts, crowns, ketchup packets and pins, each with a Stranger Things theme. Take a look at the Stranger Things-inspired launch video above.
In other news, Stranger Things is releasing a mobile game that is set to rival Pokémon GO.
