Based on the brand slogan, “Go With The Flaw.”

Originally announced earlier last month, we now get our first look at Diesel Red Tag Project’s latest collection, which comes fresh off the streets of Fabbrica del Vapore — otherwise known as Milan’s cultural epicenter. Creatively helmed by Y/Project designer Glenn Martens, the lineup picks up where previous guest collaborator Shayne Oliver left off, calling for oversized silhouettes alongside creative denim applications.

Using previous Diesel slogans as a jumping off point, taglines such as “Go With The Flaw” take on a whole new meaning, creatively showing face all throughout the lineup. For instance, Martens whole-heartedly welcomed each artistic imperfection, stating “You need to embrace the mistake and own it—operate each piece in your own way, to make it work for you. The pieces are inspired by wardrobe basics, but there are conscious pattern manipulations, such as the hemline or waistband of a jacket being seven sizes smaller than the actual garment.”

Presented on a bleacher-style installation with each row playing host to a group of models, the formal-meets-street assemblage showcases slouchy trousers, voluminous shearling jackets and generous denim usage in a variety of shape structures. Effectively balancing casual with classy, Martens stylized sharp blazers with jeans, while teaming button down shirt/blazer combos with military-style aviator jackets.

The new Diesel Red Tag Project collection is expected to reach select shops in November of this year. In the meantime, peep the recap images above for a quick look.
