ThruDark has unveiled its latest technical backpacks, designed and tested under extreme real‑world conditions by its UK Special Forces co‑founders. The lineup includes the Pinnacle Series in 28L and 42L sizes, alongside the Orbital 30L, each engineered for specific outdoor pursuits. Years of development, including testing on Mount Everest, in the Moroccan desert and across the Alps, have shaped these packs into high‑performance tools built for endurance and reliability.
The Pinnacle Series is constructed from Robic® 210D Hex Nylon with a C0 DWR water‑repellent treatment and reinforced with 840D ballistic nylon at high‑abrasion points. Both sizes feature adjustable back panels, hydration reservoir pockets, and integrated rain covers rated to 10,000HH+. The 28L model is tailored for fast‑moving day hikes, while the 42L expands capacity with a floating top lid, rope straps, and detachable sleeping‑pad straps for multi‑day expeditions.
The Orbital 30L takes a different approach, built from advanced ripstop fabric incorporating Dyneema® fibers for exceptional tear resistance and a waterproof rating of 9,700HH. Designed for mountaineering and ice climbing, it features snow‑shedding EVA back panels, ice‑axe attachments, rope management straps, and integrated RECCO® rescue technology.
