Moving beyond the subtle monochromatic aesthetic that defined its early work, MING utilizes linear polarization – a technique common in photography – to create a display that cycles continuously between vivid color and total darkness. This is achieved by replacing traditional hands with two discs of linearly polarized sapphire. When these discs align, they reveal a deep-cut, machined guilloché metal dial finished with a multiphasic color-shift coating; however, as the discs rotate 90 degrees relative to each other, they block light transmission, causing the dial to turn completely black.
The 29.06 “Peep Show” comes in a 40mm grade‑5 titanium case with MING’s signature bezel‑less sapphire crystal construction, ensuring the dial remains the star of the show.
