District Vision has opened its doors to its official Los Angeles Flagship, serving as both a meticulously crafted retail destination and a physical manifestation of the brand’s holistic running legacy. The space serves as the first permanent home for the independent imprint founded by Tom Daly and Max Vallot. Situated alongside the brand’s office and warehouse, the new location brings District Vision’s unique blend of performance product, ongoing research, and community-driven mindfulness into a singular, unified environment.
Since its establishment in 2015 — born out of early meditation workshops for runners — District Vision has consistently bridged the gap between athletic performance and mental wellbeing. This flagship acts as the ultimate physical extension of that ethos. Functioning as a hybrid environment, the space operates as a traditional storefront by day before transforming into a sanctuary for meditation, movement, and learning after hours. This programming remains central to the brand’s ongoing exploration of “human technologies,” offering regular running and breathwork sessions to the local community.
To execute the interior vision, District Vision tapped SR Studio to develop a modular layout that accommodates both product launches and community programming. The design language pays direct homage to the brand’s deep-rooted relationship with Japanese engineering, applying a restrained, zen-like sensibility to the architecture. Granular material choices ground the space, featuring custom aluminum displays contrasted by hinoki wood, vintage Japanese ceramics, and native California flora. Alongside technical eyewear services and a dedicated coffee and hydration bar, the flagship houses the brand’s complete mainline of apparel and eyewear, plus highly sought-after collaborations with New Balance and POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF).
