The Moon Rises Over Hermès FW26
The collection balanced modernism, femininity, and quiet mystery within the “liminal realm”.
French designer Nadège Vanhée let the moon rise over Hermès on the fifth day of Paris Fashion Week, welcoming guests into an enchanted forest bathed in blue twilight. For Fall/Winter 2026, the house played with light and shadow, sending confident city girls down the runway in search of midnight adventure.
Set within what Vanhée described as a “liminal realm” — the space between day and night — the collection balanced modernism, femininity, and quiet mystery. The palette moved from deep black into earthy browns, mossy greens, and flashes of yellow, evoking the horizon just after dark. Hermès’ equestrian DNA remained central, appearing in sharply tailored coats cinched with chain belts and thigh-high riding boots built for the saddle. Strategic zippers ran throughout the lineup, transforming silhouettes and adding moments of unexpected functionality.
Elsewhere, leather biker shorts, head-to-toe leather dresses, and multi-pocket bomber jackets injected a rebellious edge, followed by quilted skirts rendered in rich blood-red tones. The runway also previewed the next generation of Hermès handbags, with subtly upgraded iterations of the Birkin and Kelly bags gliding through the moonlit set.
