Vooglam Helps Tombogo Make His Eyewear Debut with Limited Edition Collaboration
The eyewear brand has an affinity for experimentation, so it brought that innovative outlook to five new collaborative models.
Personal style is more than a physical projection of our tastes. It’s a window into our deepest selves — and Vooglam feels that your accessories should be customized to fit your aesthetic. The eyewear brand creates distinctive pieces that stand out, aligning with streetwear label Tombogo’s design ethos. The two share a vision to propel originality forward with a limited-edition collaboration.
Tombogo is known for its experimental perspective. Designer Tommy Bogo founded the brand in 2020, continually infusing utilitarian references and modularity withhis Bay Area roots into his pieces. It’s not uncommon for a Tombogo design to be completely convertible — some pants can zip off into shorts, or jackets can be styled and worn in different ways. Exploration is at the heart of Bogo’s craft, so leaning into a new category — eyewear — felt like an exciting challenge.
The sunglasses line features five Tomogo-designed styles with signature accents that sit at the intersection of technology and craftsmanship. The frames are named after the different objects that inspired their silhouettes. The Geologist is a bold, goggle-style frame inspired by marble veins and ancient rock structures, while The Programmer is a future-thinking, tech-infused model. The Programmer frames come with IP-plated hardware, and they even incorporate a DJ-friendly 64 GB USB within the temple arm.
The Decoder style echoes The Programmer’s tech-forward approach, with its hydraulic hinge, double-helix temples, and titanium pad arms invoking scientific discovery in its design. These advanced features cement the model as a piece of wearable architecture. The collection’s last two styles, The Architect and the Utilitarian, are a further nod to Tombogo’s functional roots.
The Architect frames are inspired by climbing equipment, as functional carabiners are built into each temple arm, creating a one-of-one silhouette that’s as practical as it is striking. Titanium pad arms and an acetate rim set drive home the pair’s industrial feel. The Utilitarian is characterized by a functional, removable compass and bubble level. The model even has ruler markings etched into the temple arms, underscoring Tombogo’s resourcefulness.
“The collaboration excites me because it will expand the limits of functional eyewear. Vooglam has helped me bring to life several eyewear design ideas I’ve wanted to create, which would have been quite difficult to make on my own,” Bogo shared.
The limited-edition range is now available for $100-140 USD on vooglam.com and tombogo.com.
