The North Face is expanding its technical lifestyle repertoire with the launch of General Athletic Recreation (GAR), a new collection specifically engineered for the intersection of trail running and urban exploration. Debuting for the Spring/Summer 2026 season, the GAR line focuses on minimalist design language and high-performance utility, catering to athletes and city dwellers alike who require gear capable of handling rapid temperature shifts and demanding physical activity.
The debut GAR collection centers on specialized materials and ergonomic silhouettes that prioritize movement and protection. Leading the range is the GAR Light Rain Jacket, constructed from a supple 20-denier waterproof nylon that offers breathability without sacrificing durability. Complementing the outerwear are the GAR Wind Jacket and GAR Wind Skirt, both crafted from a moisture-wicking nylon fabric designed to minimize cling during intense activity.
In addition to the protective layers, the collection introduces the GAR L/S Shirt, which utilizes “BREEZERANGE” technology to provide high ventilation and integrated UV protection. Rounding out the inaugural release is a selection of graphic T-shirts featuring prominent brand logos. Each piece reflects a commitment to the “General Athletic Recreation” philosophy, blending the brand’s heritage in mountain sports with a refined, contemporary aesthetic suitable for daily wear.
Check out the release above. The North Face GAR collection is scheduled to launch on February 14 via The North Face official webstore and select retail locations.
