Summary

  • Netflix stunned audiences during Super Bowl LX by dropping the first teaser for The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a spinoff of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood directed by David Fincher
  • The star-studded ensemble includes Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, and Scott Caan, with Timothy Olyphant reprising his role as James Stacy

Netflix has dropped a surprise teaser for The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the spinoff film to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood starring Brad Pitt.

Directed by David Fincher, the one-minute visual premiered during Super Bowl LX. It begins with Pitt’s titular character recalling the climax of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, when he and Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) fought off members of the Manson family. Not much is said throughout the rest of the teaser, and instead previews short scenes with the PG-13 aspects covered with a doodle-like censor.

In addition to Pitt reprising his role from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Timothy Olyphant also returns as James Stacy. They’re joined by the likes of Elizabeth Debicki, Scot Caan, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany (in a little Mindhunter reunion with director Fincher), and more. Despite not directing, Tarantino remains attached to the project as a producer and the sole writer.

Watch the teaser above and stay tuned for a premiere date.
