Daniel Roth has revealed a significant evolution in its brand revival at LVMH Watch Week 2026 with the debut of the Extra Plat Rose Gold Skeleton. While the brand is known for faithful reinterpretations of its founder’s work, this timepiece moves into new territory, as the Extra Plat model was never skeletonized during Roth’s founding era. Conceived in the spirit of La Montre Objet d’Art, the watch preserves the classical double-ellipse proportions of the original while inviting a modern expressive range through transparency.
At the heart of this openworked masterpiece is the new DR002SR caliber, a manually wound movement developed and assembled entirely in-house at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. Constructed in solid 18k 5N rose gold to match the case, the movement’s plates and bridges have been meticulously reshaped specifically for skeletonization. This architectural reduction reveals a mechanical gallery, where every internal angle – impossible to achieve by machine – is crisp, defined, and hand-polished by master artisans. Despite its delicate appearance, the caliber maintains high performance with a 28,800 vph frequency and a 65-hour power reserve.
Prices at 85,000 CHF (approx. $106,735 USD), the Extra Plat Rose Gold Skeleton is produced in limited numbers each year to ensure the integrity of its painstaking craftsmanship. For more information, visit Daniel Roth’s official website.
