CROSSOVER® Honors Director Larry Clark’s Creative Legacy Through Collaborative Capsule Collection
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of his esteemed documentary-style film, KIDS.
30 years ago, Larry Clark released a street film titled, KIDS that held a magnifying glass to the raw, unfiltered experience of New York City’s youth culture in the ‘90s. He showed the good, the bad and the ugly, revealing the realities of city-raised adolescents through a documentary-style film. Now, three decades later, CROSSOVER® has teamed up with the film director and photographer to reinvigorate the movie’s themes in a new way, through a collaborative fashion collection.
The anniversary capsule collection captures the spirit of KIDS and translates it into colorful apparel. The film didn’t hold back in its gritty depictions of downtown life, so the designs are just as bold. Using some unseen, behind-the-scenes images, the range includes street style go-tos: MA-1 flight jackets, hoodies, graphic t-shirts and even skate decks. The original film tapped into NYC’s thriving skate culture, so it only made sense that this collab caters to skateboarders who keep the scene alive.
The versatile pieces can be easily infused into an urban, on-the-go wardrobe, but they can also be mixed and matched together. Along with bright graphics, each piece is also signed by Clark’s autograph, cementing them as collector’s items and meaningful homages to his creative legacy.
The CROSSOVER® x KIDS by Larry Clark 30th Anniversary Capsule Collection is available in-store and online at crossoverconceptstore.com.
