Director Chad Stahelski Reveals Plot Details for 'John Wick 5'
It may not be what fans expect.
Ahead of the release of John Wick 5, director Chad Stahelski teased plot details of the highly anticipated sequel.
In a recent interview with Empire, Stahelski revealed that the plot will be “really different” following the High Table storyline from the first four films. He states, “The saga of John Wick was pretty wrapped up. So the only way to do a [fifth film] is to have a new story that involves John Wick. It’s not a continuation with the High Table. John dealt with his grief. It will be really different, and everybody [will] see the trailer and go, ‘Holy f**k…I gotta see that.’”
Stahelski also discusses the upcoming John Wick franchise projects, including the upcoming Ana de Armas-starring Ballerina and the TV show, Under the High Table. Stahelski confirms that both the animated project and High Table will set up the storyline for John Wick 5, “The John Wick TV show and the animation are big priorities. Our idea is to try some things and explore some threads and use those two properties to catapult us forward into the ideas for John 5.” Ballerina is next up in the franchise, arriving on June 6 in theaters.
