Tension Rises in Netflix’s ‘Bullet Train Explosion’ Official Teaser Trailer
A modern-day remake of one of Japan’s most iconic cult thrillers.
Following up on the previous announcement, Netflix has unveiled the first official trailer for Bullet Train Explosion — a contemporary reimagining of one of Japan’s most classic cult films, The Bullet Train.
Directed by Shinji Higuchi, who’s known for his work on Shin Godzilla, the film promises to deliver a visually stunning and adrenaline-fueled experience. Higuchi, a fan of the original story, has reimagined the film as a modern-day reboot, starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, who reunites with Higuchi after their collaboration on Doomsday: The Sinking of Japan. Read below for Netflix’s official synopsis of the film:
An urgent phone call comes into the bullet train general control center. The caller says that a bomb has been planted on the Hayabusa No. 60 bullet train heading toward Tokyo and that it will explode as soon as its speed goes below 100 kilometers per hour.
To achieve hyper-realistic visuals, the production received special cooperation from the East Japan Railway Company, utilizing real bullet trains and railway facilities. The film’s commitment to authenticity and immersive experience is evident in its breathtaking scenes and non-stop action.
