Ana de Armas Is Out for Vengeance in Official Trailer for 'Ballerina'
The ‘John Wick’ franchise returns to the big screens in a few months.
Lionsgate has dropped the official trailer for John Wick spin-off Ballerina starring Ana de Armas.
While the trailer is set to Charli XCX‘s brat bop “Von Dutch,” don’t let the music fool you as it gives fans a glimpse of the dark storyline. Opening with a Slavic mythological monologue about a kikimora spirit that enacts vengeance on those with darkness in their hearts, de Armas plays Eve Macarro, a Russian ballerina-turned-assassin with an eye for vengeance against the men who killed her family. Keanu Reeves is also set to make his highly anticipated return as John Wick. The storyline of Ballerina places the plot in between John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4.
The latest installment in the John Wick franchise sees Len Wiseman direct and the script written by Shay Hatten. Kaley Smalley Romo excutive produces alongside Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski. Ballerina arrives in theaters on June 6.
