The highly electric partnership between Nike and Palace Skateboards continues with the launch of the Air Max DN8, presenting a stormy trio of sneakers that fuse skate culture with dynamic performance technology.
This collaborative run draws inspiration from Nike’s electrifying past, specifically nodding to the 2000-released Air Max Plus “Eclair Lightning.” Each of the three colorways is built upon a base of vibrant hot orange, overlaid with stark contrasts of black, grey, and white. The design introduces a striking lightning pattern and features thermoplastic polyurethane caging that recalls the iconic “fingers” of the Air Max Plus. Engineered for comfort and support, the DN8 incorporates two dual-pressure Air units and eight tubes utilizing Dynamic Air technology for cushioning that adapts with every step. In additional to the sneaker collaboration, this drop will also feature a selection of football-inspired jerseys that highlight some of the neighborhoods that coordinate with Palace stores around the world. Most notably, the jerseys feature Apgujeong in Seoul, Fukuoka, Soho in London, New York and more.
To celebrate the launch, the campaign film—shot by Eamonn Freel and starring rider Ville Wester and Rocky the Dog—explores chaotic forces, featuring massive Tesla coils and trained professionals channeling 100,000 volts of electricity. Simultaneously, Palace is dropping its weekly selection of Winter Holiday gear. The third drop of the holiday season includes cozy items like sherpa faux suede and fur trooper hats, claw-marked graphic fur trucker caps and heavy thermal fleece jackets. Additionally, Polartec fleece overshirts arrive in seasonal options like camo, saffron and black, alongside mesh jerseys for an athletic look.
Palace’s latest drop is scheduled for December 12 online, in-store, and at Dover Street Market in the UK at 11 a.m. BST, online in Europe at 12 p.m., online in the US at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT, in-store in New York at 11 a.m. and in-store and at Dover Street Market in Los Angeles at 11 a.m. On December 13, the drop will be available in-store and online in both Japan and Seoul at 11 a.m., and on Palace WeChat in China at 11 a.m. local time.
