Converse Japan is commemorating the season five premiere of Netflix’s Stranger Things with an expansive new collaboration. The collection highlights a total of three Converse silhouettes: the Chuck Taylor All Star, the Weapon and the One Star.
Leading the pack is a selection of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star. Crafted with canvas uppers, the iterations are offered in colorways of tonal red, black, green, peach, gray and navy. All but the navy offering feature a simpler design approach with Stranger Things-branded tongue tags, insoles and a “FRIENDS DON’T LIE” stamp with the names of the young heroes. Meanwhile, the navy option pays homage to the show’s fictional WSQk The Squawk radio station, offering a more vintage look. Each pair arrives with the circular Converse ankle logo and striped laces.
The Weapon silhouette is a more rigid, almost boot-like model that quickly delivers an aged aura. Cream and green leather uppers feature details specific to the show, Stranger Things insoles and a hidden tongue tag with the Hawkins High School Tigers mascot. Dirtied midsoles and lacing options in orange or white tie them together.
Finally, the low-cut One Star is built with black suede uppers and contrasting exposed stitching in white. On the panel is a subtle nod to the Demogorgon, with matching branding on the insoles and heel plate.’
