Book Works' First Release of 2025 Celebrates Jazz Royalty
With designs that salute Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell and Chick Corea, as well as other select styles.

Book Works is gearing up to release its first collection of 2025: a selection of easygoing garments that (fittingly) nod to jazz royalty. Including a hoodie as well as both long and short-sleeved tees, the offerings salute the great trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie with a duo of officially licensed photos, acknowledge virtuosic pianist Bud Powell with a portrait painted by artist Marshall Arisman and commemorate the creative process of the ever-experimental Chick Corea.
Diz’s joints include a long-sleeve tee with a full-length portrait and a short-sleeve option that shows him in the middle of one of his signature cackles. Meanwhile, Arisma’s portrait of Powell is the same image used for the 1982 reissue of Powell’s Inner Fire, his 1953 debut as a leader. Corea’s 16-item list is displayed in full on the front of his tee, and includes observations on everything from blending sound to only playing what you hear. Each features the respective artists’ name on the back in Book Works’ signature The Real Book-inspired font. Accompanying the tribute tees are a hoodie with a repeating Book Works logo, a T-shirt with a bespectacled bird that may be a nod to Corea as well and a long-sleeve “squished saxophone” longsleeve.
The latest offering from Book Works is available now via the brand’s webstore as well as Japan’s BEAMS T and New York City’s C’H'C’M’.
