Todd Snyder Teams Up With the Yankees and Mets for Subway Series Gear
Crafted from elevated fabrics with a muted color palette.
When Todd Snyder isn’t working on his mainline offering, the NYC-based designer is extending his collaborative portfolio, which has partnered with entities like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Champion, FootJoy, New Balance and more. Now Snyder is leaning into sports by teaming up with Major League Baseball teams, The New York Yankees and The New York Mets for a special Subway Series fan gear collaboration.
When it comes to baseball, the Yankees and the Mets have some of the most serious and lively fans around. So given the brand’s New York City roots, it only makes sense that its new sports collaboration aligns with the core NYC teams. But specifically, the collaboration taps into the beloved Subway Series that stems from the teams’ ongoing rivalry.
Inside the collection is a range of pieces spanning, jackets and shorts crafted from exquisite Italian suiting fabrics, french terry cloth shirts and signature New Era hats. The entire lot appears in a subdued palette of black, gray and white with the team’s focal logos. Out of the offering, a special highlight is the satin coaches jacket, which serves as the perfect piece for casual or slightly dressed-up outfits.
“The Yankees and Mets are two of the most iconic MLB teams whose rivalry is celebrated in the DNA of New York City. I wanted to design fan gear that was sophisticated–styles that you could wear to the game and around town,” says Snyder. “For this drop, we reimagined the traditional motifs of each team and chose a muted, sophisticated palette of grays, blacks and whites and incorporated luxe materials like Italian satin, summer weight wools and terry cloth.”
