Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is the Latest Athlete to Join Crocs’ Global Family

As the new face of the brand, the footballer explains how he is “prioritizing style without sacrificing comfort.”

Riding off the electric summer of football, footwear brand Crocs welcomes Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as the face of its latest campaign. The German-Cameroonian athlete joins fellow footballers Reece James and William Saliba at the brand, as it continues to find synergy between fashion, sport, and lifestyle.

Speaking to Hypebeast about the new collaboration, he explains, “I chose to work with Crocs because it aligns with my values of practicality and individuality.” Boasting a storied career at European teams Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, Choupo-Moting knows all too well the importance of functionality to stay on top of his game. Looking back at how sport has helped cultivate his unique style identity, he recalls, “Traveling has definitely influenced my style – blending elements from different cultures – but so has my lifestyle. By prioritizing comfort without sacrificing style, I choose functional yet fashionable outfits that transition seamlessly from training to personal engagements.”

Now, as he enters time as a club free agent while simultaneously playing for Cameroon’s national team, the footballer intends to use the respective Crocs partnership to build on his personal dress sense. While it provides the perfect opportunity to experiment with more styles of footwear and fashion, it sees him embrace his sporty side, balancing easy-going pieces with more clean-cut silhouettes. “Style is a powerful form of self-expression for footballers. It connects us with fans, showcases individuality, and helps create a brand,” he says.

In the new campaign, the footballer is pictured in two outfits: the first, comprised of brown track pants and a crisp white T-shirt; and the other, baggy basketball shorts and a vest. He rounds off the sporty aesthetic with Crocs’ Echo Clogs, matching the colorways of the sculpted shoe with his staple looks. “The Echo Clog is the perfect shoe for comfort and style, combining a cool urban look with a casual sporty vibe,” he says. “They effortlessly fit into my on-the-go lifestyle, matching every situation perfectly.”
