NAHMIAS Works Hard and Plays Hard in "Physical Education" SS25 Collection
An elevated edgy range presented in a hometown showcase – complete with a performance by mgk.
NAHMIAS ensures its Los Angeles heritage is prominent in all of its collections, but the label’s Spring/Summer 2025 presentation may be the most California-coded yet. In an authentically West Coast delivery aptly named “Physical Education,” Doni Nahmias tapped into the collision of workwear and sportswear styles, carefully combining and juxtaposing the two aesthetics across a range of true-to-form garments.
The brand took over Los Angeles’ Pan Pacific Park Gymnasium for the showcase, in which models strutted across the gym floor as mgk gave the elevatedly edgy summer presentation a perfect soundtrack.
NAHMIAS reworked its workwear with this edgy ethos in mind, offering up printed and pleated sets, patterned pants and tailored jackets – one of which reads “Miracle Youth Detention Center.”
Per an official statement from the brand, Nahmias drew design inspiration from the struggles of his formative years, looking to “[transform his] youthful memories into a vibrant narrative of evolution and perseverance.”
Athletic aesthetics surface in classic oversized jerseys, varsity jackets and other sport-style shorts. Plenty of knitwear pieces, graphic tees and baggy denim round out the cohesive offering.
The SS25 spectacle also marked the runway debut of NAHMIAS’ newest sneaker, the Ollies, which were introduced in the label’s “Summerland Ranch” FW24 collection and are slated for a Fall 2024 release.
More notably, however, the collection signaled the outfitter’s first-ever foray into eyewear.
