Sabato de Sarno is marking a special milestone as Gucci‘s Creative Director: holding his first Cruise show in the Big Smoke.

While based in Milano, the brand’s foundations were established in London and birthed by its founder, Guccio Gucci, who worked at the Savoy Hotel in young adulthood. His ambitious love for luxury luggage surfaced during his time as a baggage porter, honoring London’s broad cultural diversity for De Sarno’s first destination runway.

Gucci took over the world-renowned Tate Modern, welcoming international guests into an alfresco getaway freshened by natural greenery. Dua Lipa, Salma Hayek, and Paul Mescal were all in attendance, ushered into the Turbine Hall lined with reflective stools and sprouting grass patches scented by floral vegetation. As Tirzah’s beautiful track “Devotion” floated out of speakers, a mystical, magical atmosphere enveloped the venue as the show got started.

Tomboy chic womenswear defined Gucci’s Cruise 2025 collection, merging masculine and feminine styles in delicate pastels and deep primary tones. British uniforms met Italian refinement across every look, underpinned by miniature hot pants à la Miu Miu and accessorized with romantic pearls and slender frames.

Relaxed silhouettes were penciled with Gucci’s signature, kicking back in oversized button-downs and patchwork denim that reveal lace bralettes beneath. Dainty fabrics were key across the collection, present in sheer skirts and dresses adorned with circular embellishments. Clear organza took dramatic shapes in pinks, greens, and blues, paired with checkered pea coats and larger-than-life crocodile leather bomber jackets in striking sunset tones.

Sabato de Sarno’s love letter to London isn’t complete without the Blondie bag, rebuilding the 1970s icon in smooth leather and monogram finishes. The Gucci classic took on a life of its own, while bringing the brand’s signature Horsebit hardware to cropped outerwear celebrating its 70-year influence. De Sarno showed his strongest collection to date, cementing his ability to architect heritage, class, and elevation with modern urbanity while endorsing Gucci women for tomorrow and beyond.
