This week, music collective 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE united 88rising‘s Rich Brian with rapper TiaCorine for a bouncy new track titled “PUMP IT UP ε=┌(^_^)┘.”

Just over two minutes in length, the feel-good single sees both artists deliver confident lyrics on a pulsating beat. In the refrain, TiaCorine raps, “If you wit’ me den you lucky / Cool I’m fresh and funky / All the jocks say they love me /Pull up like baby Huggies.” Brian takes over the club track in the second verse: “Hands on two and ten / Speak your truth or you gon’ be my food again / Say you gon’ blow but when you gon’ pull the pin.”

The single comes after the release of 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE’s debut record, hella (˃̣̣̥╭╮˂̣̣̥) ✧ ♡ ‧º·˚:. Dropped in February, the album features a wide range of collaborators, including Brian, Warren Hue, Ghostface Killah, Busta Rhymes, Smino, Cuco, Amaarae, Offset, BADBADNOTGOOD, Westside Gunn and Dumbfoundead, among others.

The album reveals the collective’s “anachronistic lore while capturing the sights, sounds, and vibrancy of Northern California culture and beyond, through the lens of 88rising honcho Sean Miyashiro’s childhood nostalgia and wonder,” per an official description.
