US Judge Orders Elon Musk To Testify in SEC's Twitter Probe
Musk is being investigated for his activity during his $44 billion USD buyout of the platform.

A US judge has ordered Elon Musk to testify as part of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s probe into his 2022 takeover of Twitter.
The news upholds the decision to have Musk be interviewed, which was first ordered in December. Musk had appealed the order, arguing that the SEC had already interviewed him twice before and that the organization was harassing him.
The SEC is conducting its own investigation into Musk’s $44 billion USD buyout of Twitter, now known as X. Its probe concerns whether the paperwork Musk broke the law when he filed the paperwork for the purchase and if statements he made during the deal were truthful.
Musk had failed to show up for a September interview and then refused to reschedule. Despite his claims of harassment, the SEC says it unveiled new documents related to its probe and now has more questions for the tech entrepreneur.
The SEC and Musk now have one week to agree on a location and time for the testimony.
