Eclectic sneaker company Smile Republic has expanded upon their collection of limited chunky shoes, adding to the range of colors and patterns that covers every unique taste. Upgrading from their classic canvas design, the new selections are crafted with details like contrast stitching and mixed textiles that make a major statement.
Founded in 2022, China-based Smile Republic focuses on visual and conceptual deconstruction, using adaptable design techniques to consistently switch up their product. Combined with trend-forward elements, the sneakers are fashionable and original, intentionally created to be the centerpiece of an unabashed outfit. Inspired by the philosophy of street culture, the brand seeks to express the carefree attitude of style-loving youth, reinforcing the smile as the natural state of life.

Smile Republic’s classic line lays the foundation for their brand identity, featuring a blocky silhouette with a platform sole and an ultra wide knit shoe lace. Available in white, black, and brown canvas, the essential sneakers also have a detachable DIY rubber ring and dupont paper tag, proudly displaying the company logo. For the limited collection, Smile Republic plays with materials like waterproof nylon, denim, and corduroy, expanding the shade range to pastel pink and blue, neon green and yellow, and textured neutrals. Certain colorways are also made in a slip-on model, perfect for those who prefer effortless comfort that still makes an impact.
After growing in popularity throughout Asia, being worn by celebrities like Thai rapper BamBam and Hong Kong actress Angelababy, the sneakers have garnered attention in the states. Following 2022 pop-ups in New York and Los Angeles, Smile Republic has found a permanent home on the west coast at Green Clique, a creative concept space in streetwear fashion, art, and culture.
