Converse and Foot Locker came together to launch Converse Sessions, an exclusive music video series built to showcase emerging talent from Toronto, shot entirely inside a pop up studio in Foot Locker’s Toronto community store. Nearly 40 young musicians were challenged to stop by to record a full length song and music video—in just one hour. This gave artists a space to showcase their songwriting and performance prowess, while becoming a discovery platform for the local music scene.

Foot Locker enlisted renowned Canadian music producer and content creator DATSUNN to produce four exclusive instrumentals of varying genres for artists to choose from and record with. After all 40 artists finished their recording sessions, one participating artist was picked to win an extra private recording session with DATSUNN himself.

Each artist’s session was recorded, documented and crafted into a full length song and music video. Once completed, participants were granted rights to share their content through social media and onto music streaming platforms for the whole world to discover.

“We’re always looking for new ways to connect with our community and support emerging talent,” said Gemma Abela, Director of Marketing, Foot Locker Canada. “Music and culture is so ingrained in our brand, and Converse Sessions provides a great example of how we can use our platform to support tomorrow’s next great artists.”

Converse Sessions music series is now available on Foot Locker Canada’s YouTube channel.
