Disney has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation, The Little Mermaid.

The musical, directed by Rob Marshall, reimagines the classic 1989 animated film with live actors. Staying true to the storyline, the adaptation will still see the mermaid Airel fall for a human prince who lives above water. Ursula enters the plot with her own devilish motives as she learns this information. Halle Bailey stars as Ariel and can be heard singing under the sea in the trailer. When Disney first teased the film in September 2022, fans quickly fell in love with Bailey’s singing, even though she only appeared on screen for 15 seconds.

The new teaser gives fans a first look at Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. Javier Bardem stars alongside as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder and Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian. The upcoming Disney live-action, The Little Mermaid is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 26.

In other entertainment news, Netflix has released a new You season four, part two trailer.
