Stella Artois x Martine Rose Launched at HBX New York With Snooker and Pool Hall-Inspired Event and Installation
The evening spotlighted the collection of apparel and accessories informed by the UK’s pub subcultures.
Globally renowned Belgian-style lager Stella Artois just celebrated the launch of its special collaboration with menswear designer Martine Rose. Rose, who is currently one of the UK’s most prolific fashion creators and British Menswear Designer of the Year, was tapped by the lager brand for her counterculture-inspired direction. Her designs, often informed by Britain’s punk, sports and creative youth cultures, were intertwined with Stella Artois’ rich heritage to create an apparel and accessories collection reflecting the UK’s energetic pub scene and pool hall lifestyle. To celebrate the fruitful partnership Stella Artois held a special event at concept store HBX New York to officially launch Stella Artois x Martine Rose.
British-Jamaican menswear designer Martine Rose herself attended the event alongside friends and special guests. Attendees were led to a special section inside HBX’s first floor to check out the full range which consisted of a collaborative tee, a newspaper print button down shirt, a “sawn-off” cap, denim jeans and the prized item – an aviator jacket fully adorned with Stella bottle caps. Not only did guests get a chance to look, touch and feel the products but they also had the opportunity to snap photos within the special section.

The Stella Artois x Martine Rose installation transported attendees into a British pub inspired by the collab’s lookbook location, Cousins Professional Snooker & Pool Club in London. Similar to Cousins, which Rose frequents in the UK, the installation was replete with wood grain walls, pool cues, rack, billiard balls and a chalk scoreboard. There were also bar tops where guests could place their Stella Artois drinks while they enjoyed the festivities.
As the evening went on Martine Rose took some time to talk to attendees about the collection. Some notable guests for the night included Maurice Kamara, Selah Marley, Sage Adams, Tyler Mazaheri, Ian Bradley, Jian DeLeon, Christian Cody, Mordechai Rubinstein, Rox Brown, Sky Gellatly, Ray Miah and Anajah.

Pieces from the Stella Artois x Martine Rose are now available in-store at HBX and at Martine-Rose.com. The collab will also launch at HBX.com, Machine A and Dover Street Market London on December 8.
